Besides
sealing the ends of the package, outside headers are used
to protect the ends of the paper roll from moisture and water
migration, dirt, grease, gases, light, scuffing and damage
during distribution. The quality and appearance of an outside
header is a reflection of the quality of paper contained inside
the roll.
Cascades
Sonocos advanced technology and materials science has
been used to design outside headers that offer exceptional
performance and protection throughout production and distribution,
thus ensuring paper roll quality and integrity.
Designed
to perform on manual, semi-automated and full robotic wrapping
lines, outside headers are die-cut to precise tolerances (+/-
0.5" or 1.27 cm) so that edges are clean, headers separate
easily and there are fewer interlocking fibers between heads
and less dust. Porosity levels are monitored through rigorous
quality assurance measures, ensuring high performance on robotic
lines. Superior adhesion secures headers on the roll. To minimize
slipping during roll handling, outside headers feature proper
slide angle performance, a true safety benefit. Outside headers
can be printed with identification and/or specifications.
Choose
from a broad range of materials, sizes, weights, porosity
and printing options.
Outside
Headers Options:
- Various substrates including Linerboard (Kraft and Recycled),
Chipboard, etc.
- Coated headers for heat sealability or plain for glue
application
- Diameters from 13" to 80" (33 cm to 203 cm)
- Porosity control with a 60 second minimum (Gurley porosity
using Tappi 460 standards)
- With and without center holes and vents
- Peel-off header product available (pre-glued headers
with release liner)
- Can be printed for identification and/or specifications
